I grew up in a Christian home and received the Lord Jesus as my Savior when I was ten or eleven years old. From my birth my parents have been meeting with the local church. As a child and adolescent I did not have any problem with the idea that I was in the local church. As I grew older however, I began to consider what it means to be in the local church.
I have not come to one unique all-encompassing answer; but, I can say that the church, that is, the Body of Christ, is real. The Body of Christ is real to me because I see and experience it in the local church. While I have had my hard times in the church, that does not detract from the fact that the church is real and the people who comprise the church are genuine.
